Durante duas semanas nos meses de Maio e Junho 2015 o atelier urban nomads e os alunos da turma CEV da Escola EB2 Santiago Maior, Beja, irão construir dois eventos temporários principais com o objetivo de testar algumas das ideias sugeridas pelos moradores do bairro no inquérito porta-a-porta.

A sessão de Maio ‘Jogos & Joguetes’ irá centrar-se no tema jogos e desportos. Intervenções temporárias para os vários desportos e actividades de lazer irão ocupar os espaços públicos/partilhados do Beja II. Durante o dia, uma maratona de jogos irá convidar os moradores do bairro a testar algumas actividades, usar os espaços desocupados de outras formas e convidar o encontro entre diferentes moradores. Deverá também contribuir para a identificação de moradores interessados que queiram dar continuidade às actividades promovendo, de forma autónoma, outros encontros/sessões desportivas ou de lazer. O conjunto de moradores interessados poderá vir a trabalhar de forma mais próxima com o atelier para que colectivamente se comece a pensar em algumas ideias de como conceber diferentes espaços no descampado para acolher algumas das actividades.

O evento irá terminar com uma entrega de prémios e com a continuação de um debate sobre o futuro do bairro.

For two weeks in May and June 2015 atelier urban nomads and the CEV class, Escola EB2 Santiago Maior, Beja, will be working on the construction of two major temporary events that intend to test some of the ideas suggested by the local inhabitants in the door-to-door questionnaires.

May’s session ‘Jogos & Joguetes’ focuses on the themes of play and sports. Temporary interventions for the various sports and leisure activities will occupy the public/shared spaces in Beja II. Throughout the day a marathon of games will invite the residents to try out some activities, use the site in a different way and meet other residents. This will be an opportunity to start identifying key residents who might wish to get together to start organising independent sessions of some of the activities that will take place throughout the day. Those groups will ideally start working closer with the atelier so that we can collectively start thinking about some design suggestions for the different spaces.

The event will end with a prize ceremony where the joint discussion about the future of the neighbourhood will continue.
